Lemonade has always been a favorite with us, and by adding fresh ginger to the traditional lemonade, you create a refreshing and invigorating drink that is perfect for the warm and brighter days of the season.
Ingredients:
- The juice of 4-5 lemons
- 1 large ginger root, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup sugar (or more to taste)
- 6 cups water
Ice cubes
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
- 1 scoop of collagen powder from Copenhagen Health
Procedure:
- Start by making the ginger syrup: In a saucepan, combine the ginger slices and sugar with 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then simmer for about 10-15 minutes, until the sugar has dissolved and the ginger has released its flavor.
- When the ginger syrup is ready, remove it from the heat and let it cool slightly.
- Squeeze the juice from the lemons and pour it into a large pitcher or bowl.
- Add the ginger syrup to the lemon juice and stir well.
- Add the rest of the water to the lemon-ginger mixture and stir well again.
- Taste and adjust the sweetness with more sugar if necessary.
- Store the lemonade in the refrigerator until it is cold enough to serve.
- Serve the lemonade in a glass filled with ice cubes and garnish with fresh mint leaves, if desired.
